Birthday

The most random of events is birth of species, and the funniest thing is that the most intelligent (and only laughing) among them celebrate it.

Getting carried away

One desirable corporate skill is not to reciprocate to general stupidity.

Oh, ingenuity! flourish

Man ceases to be a creative human if he gets inoculated against stupidity

Life's goal

The following struck me while reading something. When an well accomplished  prof. was asked to summarize his life, this is how he described it. (Not word to word but gist)

*Life is all about picking up something, which you cannot possibly do it( in one life time) and spend all your resources/energies and time in making it happen*

Glory

Trunk and main branches of a tree never compete with branches and crown in producing fruits.

Symmetry is the order

It is amazing that all flowers are symmetric

[the following is taken from web]

One of the most intriguing things about this universe is the symmetry that one finds everywhere.  It is just pervaded by symmetry.  God must be a lover of symmetry.  The human body is symmetric.  So are the bodies of all mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, insects, etc..  All that walks, crawls or swims.
Consider all the parts of the bodies of all these creatures --- hands, feet, eyes, ears, nose, internal organs --- and see all the intriguing symmetry.  Consider the forms of all the plants, grasses and herbs of the field;  of the trees, bushes and shrubs of the forest.  See the intriguing symmetry in their general shapes.  And look at the symmetry in their parts.  See the symmetry of their leaves, their flowers, stems and root systems.  All living things that God has made are characterized by an intriguing amount of symmetry.  And one can also find
symmetry outside the living things.  Consider the many varied types of crystals in the mineral world. Consider the raindrops.  Consider the snowflakes.  Consider the heavenly bodies --- the sun, moon, stars, and planets (they are spherical).  Consider their motions (ellipses).  Symmetry everywhere.  Is there some hidden meaning in all this symmetry?  Some deep, mystical, spiritual meaning?  To me it is all the unique mark, the signature, the fingerprint of the Most High God, Lord of the Universe.  So also are all the intricate and
remarkable processes and mechanisms of growth, reproduction, etc. that govern living things;  and all the intriguing physical laws that govern everything.

Prerequisite for Art/Philosophy

Not sure if an empty mind can contemplate art and philosophy, but certainly an empty stomach can never allow mind to be artistic and philosophical.

Compensation

In a corporate job part of the pay is towards putting up with irrationality/imbecility and to some extent subordination.  Perhaps, that is the reason it is also called as compensation.

Grace and serenity in life

While listlessly walking in my backyard one fine Sunday evening, a pomegranate sampling attracted my attention. It is a small plant, yet it competed with other productive and adult plants around and proudly brought forth couple of fruits on its tiny and slender braches. A cursory and causal look fills us with good feeling that this plant quickly blossomed. But a persistent and inquisitive observation unravels the fact that the plant is not able to carry its produce gracefully. The fruit carrying branches are almost bent to the extent of breaking – what a pity, graceless existence? An young plant should be nourished on its roots and branches – roots enjoying the vastness and aroma of earth and braches dance to the tune of morning and evening breeze. What a  beauty if branches can develop enough strength to offer a nice perch to occasional guests –small birds of various hues. Enjoy the nature and produce can always wait for a later day.

God's creation

God wanted to create something beautiful and delightful - he tossed out flowers of all hues. Even God wanted to do better and this time he added little grind to his imagination - thus created women. It appears as though he exhausted all his creative energies.

Scholarly hubris

The easiest way to irritate a learned is to tell him/her something already known him/her. Never miss the palpable repugnance in the face. Its fun to watch these emotions :D
